It has been said that there are two times to worry about your reputation: always and forever. Every day, our conversations and the news media are full of commentary, gossip and information that can build up or tear down one's reputation. In Chicago, we often joke that instead of the famous "six degrees of separation," there actually are only two degrees of separation. As a result, it's critical to communicate clearly, directly, honestly and memorably.
Let me introduce myself. I am Kathy Schaeffer, president of Kathy Schaeffer and Associates, Inc., a public relations firm in Chicago: www.ksapr.com. One goal for my blog is to offer a place to share comments, real-world experience and true stories about communications, public relations, public affairs, issues management and news.
